Kyle Kendrick pitches what is easily the best game of his so far six year career, tossing his first career shutout and setting a career high in strikeouts. The 22-38 record for the Twins is the worst won-loss record in the majors right now, but a good chunk of that record happened during their 14 game losing streak back in April when they beagn the season at 2-14. For the Phillies this is their first appearance in Minnesota since 2004, and only the fourth series against the Twins since interleague play began 15 years ago.

Kyle Kendrick shutout Minnesota while allowing the Philadelphia bullpen a
day-off and Ty Wigginton left the yard and had 3 RBI at Target Field where
the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Minnesota Twins 9 to 0.
 
Kendrick(2-7) put on a good performance.  He allowed only 6 hits and 2 walks
in 9 innings.  Philadelphia finished with 16 hits in the victory.  
 
Nick Blackburn(1-4) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 5 and 1/3 innings and
surrendered 9 hits and no walks. Wth the win Philadelphia now has a record of
a division leading 35-28.  With the loss, Minnesota has a record of 4-6
lately, 22-38, worst in the division overall.
