| Cole Hamels helped his own cause with his first career homerun, a 2-run shot in the 2nd inning, but allows two long balls to the Nats (a solo shot for Ian Desmond in the 2nd and a big 3-run blast in the 8th for Bryce Harper), the blast for Harper tying the score 4-4. But, the never-say-die Phils open it up in the bottom of that 8th inning, getting five runs off of the sloppy pitching of Chein-Ming Wang and end up easy victors. The Phils win puts them only 1/2 game behind the Nationals in the division. All of the excitement in the game was in the 7th and 8th innings as seen here: *** BOTTOM OF INNING 7 *** SUBSTITUTE LF- Roger Bernadina 0 F.Galvis 1- 7 4 5 Double b-2 SUBSTITUTE P - Chien-Ming Wang SUBSTITUTE LF- Tyler Moore 0 2 M.Fontenot 1 Wild Pitch 2-3 0 3 M.Fontenot 1- 7 7 Fly Out b-0 1 3 C.Hamels 1 Wild Pitch 3-H 1 C.Hamels 5- 5 2 Single b-1 1 1 J.Pierre 5- 4 1 Passed Ball 1-2 1 2 J.Pierre 2- 4 4 Fly Out b-0 2 2 P.Polanco 4-10 5 Fly Out b-0 *** TOP OF INNING 8 *** 0 J.Flores 3- 7 4 Pop Out b-0 1 T.Moore 2- 7 4 Walk b-1 1 1 D.Espinosa 3- 5 1 Single 1-2 b-1 1 12 B.Harper 2- 2 1 2 Home Run 2-H 1-H b-H SUBSTITUTE P - Raul Valdes 1 R.Zimmerman 6- 8 4 Line Out b-0 2 A.Laroche 6-10 3 Ground Out b-0 *** BOTTOM OF INNING 8 *** 0 H.Pence 5- 5 5 Walk b-1 0 1 C.Ruiz 4- 4 5 Single 1-3 b-1 0 1 3 1 Stolen Base 1-2 0 23 S.Victorino 4- 6 12 3 Single 3-H 2-H b-1 0 1 1 Stolen Base 1-2 0 2 T.Wigginton 2-10 5 Single & Error - CF 2-H b-3 0 3 F.Galvis 6- 7 5 Double 3-H b-2 SUBSTITUTE P - Ryan Perry 0 2 M.Fontenot 2- 7 4 Ground Out 2-3 b-0 SUBSTITUTE PH- Erik Kratz 1 3 E.Kratz 3- 7 7 3 Line Out b-0 2 3 J.Pierre 6- 6 1 5 Single 3-H b-1 2 1 P.Polanco 4-11 3 Ground Out b-0 |
