May 28, 2012 Phillies 4, Mets 2

Cole Hamels plays both the hero and the goat in the same inning. In the top of the 7th of a 1-1 game, Brian Schneider hit a double with two outs. The next batter up is Hamels. I wanted to try to give the bullpen a bit of a rest after last game, so I let Hamels hit. He is up to the task, ripping one to center with Schneider beating the throw home for a 2-1 Phillie lead. That lead is erased in the bottom of the same inning, when Vinny Rottino leads off the inning with his first major league homerun, off of Hamels to put the game back in a tie, 2-2. Hector Luna plays the hero, as he came in on defence in the 8th inning and smokes a 2-run homerun off of Bobby Parnell in the top of the 9th to put the Phils up by two. I elect to let Raul Valdes pitch the 9th also, but he does allow the Mets to load the bases before recordingt the final out.
