| The Phils score all 3 runs in the 2nd inning, and the early scoring holds up as they avoid the series sweep. A so-so road trip, as the Phils go 5-5 on this trip out West. After an off day to fly back to Philly, they welcome the Cubs for a four game series before hitting the road again to division rivals Atlanta and Washington. The Twins finally won, neeeding a walk-off double to beat the Red Sox to end the losing streak at 16 games. Longest losing streak for the franchise in almost 60 years, since the 1954 Senators lost 18 in a row. |

The Philadelphia Phillies edged the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field by the
score of 3 to 2.
Arizona lost it in the 2nd inning when Philadelphia did all their damage when
they came up with 3 runs on 3 hits. That early run support was enough for
Cole Hamels(2-1) and Philadelphia. Arizona had a chance to come back in the
9th but they came up short.
Hamels was helped out by Jonathan Papelbon who recorded his 6th save. The
losing pitcher was Trevor Cahill(1-2). He gave up 6 hits and 2 walks in 7
innings.
