Third time in a week that the Phillies have won the game in their last atbat, and an extra inning games for the second consecutive game. The tie was made when Mike Fontenot ripped a pinch hit RBI single in the boittom of the 8th to tie the game. On another note, the top three men in the Phillies order today of Jimmy Rollins, Juan Pierre and Shane Victorino run tops in the NL in stolen bases. Pierre stole a base today for his 11th and ties him for second place, Victorino's total of 10 puts him third, and Rollins is no slouch with 7 steals. Between the three, the total of 28 steals is more than the totals of all but seven teams (not including the Phillies) in the major leagues, and the team total of 32 is third overall in the majors. |

25,248 fans watched an exciting game at Citizens Bank Park. The Philadelphia
Phillies topped the Houston Astros by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Philadelphia won it in the
10th inning. After two were out Brian Schneider smashed a solo-shot out of
the park resulting in an exciting win for Philadelphia and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Philadelphia had 13 hits for the game and
Houston had 7.
The win was credited to Jonathan Papelbon(3-2) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. Rhiner Cruz(2-3) took the loss in relief. He gave up 1 hit and no
walks in 2/3 of an inning.
