| Two Phillies are responsible for all of the offense today: Juan Pierre and Ty Wiggington. Pierre knocks home three teammates with a 2-run triple in the 3rd and an RBI single in the 5th, while Wiggington drives in four all on one shot, a grand slam homerun in the 5th inning. It all gives Cole Hamels an easy time of it, and to top it off Hamels scores a run and throws a 5-hit shutout. With Roy Halladay's less than stellar performance last game along with the shutout for Hamels today, that changes the top ERAs in the league a bit. Stephen Strasburg of the Nationals now leads at 1.29 followed by Hamels at 1.36, Gio Gonzalez of the Nats at 1.50, and Halladay at 1.65. Halladay and Hamels do run 1-2 in total innings pitched in the NL with 60 and 53 respectively. |
